This bi-annual trade fair and heavy machinery exhibition had an amazing 476 exhibitors and was held from the 28^th to the 30^th of June at Hillhead Quarry, which is a short way away from Buxton in Derbyshire. In 2016 there were a series of additions to the show in itself, one of which being an increased amount of exhibition space – which included a brand new outdoor area which housed a highly popular series of events.

We love visiting Hillhead and seeing the exhibitions and the heavy machinery in action; as well as a number of exhibits on static display. However, that wasn’t all that Hillhead offered. Regardless of how fun the experience was, there was some work involved too!

Glyn Lloyd and Sons pride ourselves on both our Main Dealer status for Takeuchi machinery in the regions of North Wales and the Wirral – as well as Birkenhead, and our selection of used plant equipment for sale in North Wales is also a very prominent part of our business. We’re committed to delivering top notch, reliable and friendly specialist service throughout North Wales, the UK, and even Europe when it comes to supplying used plant machinery, and Hillhead proved to be an ideal spotlight event and platform to stay informed on new product and service launches, partnership announcements, new brands and essentially what’s happening with quarrying and the heavy machinery industry at large.

While indeed announcements and news on the industry was our focus at this event, we also enjoyed seeing working demonstrations firsthand. Hillhead is a fantastic showcase – we were able to view it’s four live demonstration areas and the working nature of the show certainly sets it apart from the rest. 2016’s demonstration areas housed two mobile primary jaw crushers, as well as a large number of tracked excavators, wheel loaders, articulated dumpers and other machines to watch work.

Hillhead is set to return in 2018, and we’ve already ordered our tickets!
