Used JCB Plant Machinery

JCB, or Bamford Excavators Limited, is one of Britain’s most loved brands, and also one of the United Kingdom’s biggest exports. JCB Machinery is synonymous with construction, agriculture, waste handling and demolition – and is very well known for its distinctive logo and yellow colour. This little British Company isn’t so little – with 22 factories across Europe, Asia, North and South America, as well as the production of well over 300 types of machine including diggers, excavators, tractors and diesel engines – JCB are one of the biggest players in the world – dominating the Indian market with a staggering 3 out of every 4 construction products being sold being a JCB.

In quite a rare position amongst construction machinery companies, JCB was founded in 1945 and is still privately owned by the Bamford family. Interestingly, “JCB” actually appears in the Oxford English Dictionary for “a type of mechanical excavator with a shovel at the front and a digging arm at the rear.” Which is testament to just how important JCB is. Not many companies can claim that their brand is known as the product itself!

JCB’s products themselves are rather varied variants of the backhoe loader. Their tracked 360 degree excavators range from the 7 tonne zero tail swing excavator to the gargantuan 46 tonne tracked excavator. Wheeled 360 degree excavators range from the JS130W to the JS200W. All machines can also be produced with monoboom, or a triple articulated boom.

Their wheeled loaders have application in industrial and agricultural environments, and range from an assortment of compact 6 tonne hydrostatic machines to the much heftier 25 tonne quarrying machines. These machines are pretty special, offering a choice of 4 and 6 cylinder diesel engines for an extra burst of power when needed.

JCB Tractors are also something special indeed. JCB are credited with laying the ground for other companies by producing the very first tractor which had proper suspension, and could travel at a decent speed on roads. (40mph) This is especially notable, as tractors, because of fixed height – are very difficult to provide proper suspension for.

Other than a solid base in excavators, diggers and tractors, JCB have produced machinery which has broken the land speed record, manufacture smaller construction equipment and have developed a range of ultra-tough phones aimed at construction personnel that can stand up to every lump and bump a busy site can throw at them.

JCB’s focus on quality has paid off substantially, with the British Army awarding them a contract for the manufacture of a range of military vehicles.
