Used Dynapac Plant Machinery

Dynapac are a Swedish subsidiary of Atlas Copco, and a world leader in mobile compactors for road surfaces.
Their product catalogue also includes paving and milling equipment, and they are a well-established and respected name when it comes to heavy machinery. Founded in 1934 as the remarkably un-catchy AB Vibro-Betong within Stockholm, the efforts of a mechanical engineer by the name of Hilding Svenson saw the development of their first vibratory compactor within 1936 – a mere two years later. The Vibratory Compactor was launched within 1947, and weighed 1.5 tonnes – with the nickname of “The Frog.”
In 1948, the first research laboratory was opened, and the first vibratory road roller was manufactured within 1953. A manufactory was established in Karlskorna in 1960, charged with the development and manufacture of heavy rollers. Furthermore, Karlskorna boasted Dynapac’s technical centre. Dynapac’s largest success happened within 1970 with the manufacture of the iconic CA 25, the world’s leading compaction roller.
Shortly after this highly successful product, AB Vibro-Betong changed its name and corporate identity to Dynapac Maskin AB – or more commonly, Dynapac, while at the same time reinventing itself from a small engineering company into a massive global player in compaction machinery by massively expanding its product range.
Dynapac kept its roots however. Despite the rapid expansion of products offered, their main product was still vibratory road rollers, which were well known for their excellent engineering, specification, and quality. In 1980, Dynapac brought out its very own planer.
Dynapac expanded internationally by securing a manufacturing facility and offices in Stanhope, New Jersey. At the time, the site was magnificent – even state of the art, boasting numerous offices, numerous R&D facilities and had many facilities for the wellbeing of its employees – including numerous tennis courts specifically designed and installed for their usage.
Various rollers and light equipment was manufactured there until the site’s closure within 1987. Unfortunately, Dynapac went through a series of owners before finally being purchased by Swedish giants Atlas Copco within 2007. Underneath Atlas Copco, Dynapac continue to manufacture and design excellent paving products, to great success even today.
